These terms govern your use of the Text Snip desktop application and this website, provided by BlackFlag Studio ("we", "us"). By installing the app or creating an account you agree to them.
1. The service
Text Snip lets you capture a region of your screen and extract the text inside it. Without an account you may take up to 10 snips; with a free account, snips are unlimited. Advanced features ("Premium") require a Premium license or a valid promo code.
2. Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials safe — you're responsible for activity on your account.
- One account per person. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.
- We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (see Section 5).
3. Premium & promo codes
- Premium is a 1-year license tied to your account. It unlocks the Premium feature set described on the pricing page for one year from activation, after which the account automatically returns to the free plan. There is no automatic renewal or recurring charge.
- Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record; their terms apply to the transaction itself. Refunds are handled case-by-case — contact support.
- Promo codes unlock a Premium term without payment. A code may carry its own usage limit and expiry date, may be redeemed only once per account, and codes obtained or distributed without our authorization may be revoked.
4. Your content
Everything you capture with Text Snip is yours. Recognition happens on your device, we don't receive your captures, and we claim no rights over them. You are responsible for making sure that what you capture and how you use it complies with applicable law and third-party rights.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service to violate any law or the rights of others;
- probe, overload, disrupt or circumvent our systems, usage limits or security measures (including the free-tier limits);
- resell, redistribute or commercially exploit promo codes or licenses;
- reverse-engineer the app except where the law expressly permits it.
6. Intellectual property
The app, website, name, logo and all related materials are owned by BlackFlag Studio and protected by law. Your license to use the app is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable.
7. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is". OCR is statistical by nature — recognition results may contain errors, and we make no guarantee of accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Always verify extracted text before relying on it for anything important.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BlackFlag Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
9. Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms; where reasonable, we'll warn you first.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The date above always reflects the current version; significant changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
